New cover for "Trump the Press"

What do you think of it?

Any suggestions?

  1. I like it, too, but why the new cover?

  2. Lion sounds too much like lying (lyin'). And if there is any comparison between Trump and a Lion, leave it for the historians to make. It is not appropriate for a contemporaneous supporter to make such a comparison. It comes across as immodest and gushing.

  3. Continued ... it makes you look too partisan to be objective. People won't trust what your write if they think you are blinded by admiration. If you are caught up in a personality cult.

    1. Politics is partisan, and has been so for
millennia. It seems from your comment that you believe Trump supporters are cultists, nothing could be further from the truth with the possible exception of The Hildebeast. You give yourself away by stating that a picture of a lion sounds like the word lying. No. A picture of a lion puts in one's minds eye a lion. The spoken word lion, yes, may sound like the spoken word lying or with a clipped "g" lyin, however, only a Democrat would make and articulate that idea. Give it a break, your side lost. Cheers. :).

  4. Love the concept.

There's something about that one eye on Trump's nose that's making my brain short circuit. I keep seeing an alien in the Tattooine bar. Now it won't go away. Figure ground or something some old German may have come up with.

Could be the meds also or a flashback from a Quicksilver Messenger Service concert (when Janis opened for them).

    1. Yeah, same here, Russell. The morph works intellectually but not visually, if that makes sense. I suck at art so would stick with the original.

  5. Second printing, sales must have been good.

  6. I'm partial to the red white and blue motif of the original cover...

  8. I'd like to see what an artist could do with an eagle and Trump-looking-to-the-far-horizon.

    1. Hear, hear! Or I guess I should say see, see! With the eagle's beak within DJT's nose.
As it stands now, it's OK, but I'd push the lion's face a little to the right to get that eye out of DJT's nose.

  10. I agree with the constructive criticism, which does not include the two comments by Anonymous. I think the eye needs to shift right some, also perhaps an eagle in swooping flight in the upper left quadrant, though that might make the cover too busy. All in all an excellent job. Kudos to the designer as well as the subject of the cover. Cheers. :).
