Make America an Oil Exporter Again

For the past 10 years, the Bush 43 and Obama administrations have refused to fund a small project in Corpus Christi, Texas, that could Make America an Oil Exporter Again -- MAOEA.

For a mere $350 million.

From the Corpus Christi Caller-Times:
A massive crude carrier called the Anne docked at the Port of Corpus Christi on Friday without a drop of oil in its cargo hold.
Nonetheless, its visit made history.
At nearly 1,100 feet long and 200 feet wide, the French vessel was easily be the largest oil tanker to ever call on a port in the Gulf of Mexico.
Officials for Occidental Petroleum successfully navigated the super tanker through the port and safely docked it at the Oxy Ingleside Energy Center export terminal. The experiment came at a time when most gulf ports are wrestling with major spikes in vessel traffic that can be traced to the Panama Canal's recent expansion and the December 2015 repeal of the ban on foreign crude exports.
Nowhere is that trend playing out more vividly than at Corpus Christi's port, the nation's fifth largest, based on tonnage.
China bought and widened the canal. We had a decade's notice. The Corps of Engineers, for whatever reason, sat on preparing for larger and more vessels.

President Trump's plan to get a trillion in infrastructure investments through Congress would be the biggest public works project since the St. Lawrence Seaway or the interstates.

Instead of tossing away a trillion a year on welfare-style programs, we really would be investing in our future.

We could be taking our oil and selling it to Europe. Or China. Or India.

As Gary Gilmore said, "Let's do it."

On November 8, 2016, the American people said, "Trump the Establishment!"

Now read the book that explains how and why the press missed this historic election.

It is available on Kindle, and in paperback.

And then read the original, "Trump the Press," which chronicled and mocked how the media missed Trump's nomination.

It is available on Kindle, and in paperback

  1. In today's world, if we were thinking to build the Panama Canal, the Democrats would yell that we would be oppressing Panamanians and the GOP in Congress would mostly agree or go along.

  5. And just as Iran is freed to export oil we glut and collapse the market. And just as they are deeply involved funding proxies in Syria and Yemen and need as much income as possible to keep up the tempo we glut and collapse the market. Catching them between the Scylla of reduced income and the Charybdis increased expenditure.* Lovely, lovely ground to set them on.
