Susan Rice scandal shows media learned nothing from Lewinsky

Mike Cernovich, a lawyer who writes self-help books and breaks news stories, just broke the Susan Rice scandal story -- that her friend, Maggie Haberman of the New York Times, sat on.

Once again, the media thinks it owns the news.

It doesn't. The truth will out.

After Cernovich broke the story, the Daily Caller reported:
Former President Barack Obama’s national security adviser Susan Rice ordered U.S. spy agencies to produce “detailed spreadsheets” of legal phone calls involving Donald Trump and his aides when he was running for president, according to former U.S. Attorney Joseph diGenova.
“What was produced by the intelligence community at the request of Ms. Rice were detailed spreadsheets of intercepted phone calls with unmasked Trump associates in perfectly legal conversations with individuals,” diGenova told The Daily Caller News Foundation Investigative Group Monday.
“The overheard conversations involved no illegal activity by anybody of the Trump associates, or anyone they were speaking with,” diGenova said. “In short, the only apparent illegal activity was the unmasking of the people in the calls.”
Other official sources with direct knowledge and who requested anonymity confirmed to The DCNF diGenova’s description of surveillance reports Rice ordered one year before the 2016 presidential election.
Good summation. The whole scandal is Watergate on Steroids, but it also is reminiscent of a different presidential scandal.

Remember 19 years ago when we were all leaner, as were our wallets?

Newsweek spiked a story about President Clinton committing perjury in a deposition to cover up his Oval Office affair with an intern.

No problem. The source leaked the story -- and the story about Newsweek spiking it -- to a wannabe online gossip named Matt Drudge.

He put the story on his web site (which was set up by Andrew Breitbart) and the Drudge Report now is worth several times more than Newsweek.

Lesson learned? Hardly.

Newspapers are run by jokers who think this is still the 1980s when Montgomery Ward and Pontiac car dealers were going to buy full-page color ads forever and ever.

But Montgomery Ward and Pontiac are gone -- as is the power of the press.

If the press still had any power, Donald Trump would have collected zero states last year. After all, 243 newspapers endorsed her and only 20 endorsed him.

Trump took 30 states -- the most since Clinton in 1996.

There's the media's power, piddled away by hiding the news while trying to con people with Fake News. There is no Putin-Trump conspiracy.

But there is the Obama regime breaking the law to spy on Trump.

Cernovich broke the story that Maggie Haberman thought she could hide.

CNN thinks it can still hide this scandal. Isn't that quaint? Well, it did hide Saddam Husein's atrocities for 10 years.

But the truth will out.

From another thorn in the media's bottom, Zero Hedge, quoting Cernovich:
"Maggie Haberman had it. She will not run any articles that are critical of the Obama administration.
"Eli Lake had it.  He didn't want to run it and Bloomberg didn't want to run it because it vindicates Trump's claim that he had been spied upon. And Eli Lake is a 'never Trumper.'  Bloomberg was a 'never Trump' publication.
"I'm showing you the politics of 'real journalism'. 'Real journalism' is that Bloomberg had it and the New York Times had it but they wouldn't run it because  they don't want to run any stories that would make Obama look bad or that will vindicate Trump. They only want to run stories that make Trump look bad so that's why they sat on it.
"So where did I get the story? I didn't get it from the intelligence community. Everybody's trying to figure out where I got it from. I got it from somebody who works in one of those media companies. I have spies in every media organization. I got people in news rooms. I got it from a source within the news room who said 'Cernovich, they're sitting on this story, they're not going to run it, so you can run it'.
"If you're at Bloomberg, I have people in there. If you're at the New York Times, I have people in there. LA Times, Washington Post, you name it, I have my people in there. I got IT people in every major news room in this country. The IT people see every email so that's how I knew it."
If I ran a news operation, I would out-Drudge Drudge, and out-Cernovich Cernovich.

Not because of ideology.

Because of money.

Consider this from Cernovich's site:
Cernovich Gives 60 Minutes its First Ratings Win Since 2008
Breaking his usual rule of never appearing on edited television, author and filmmaker Mike Cernovich went on 60 Minutes to show a record 15 million people the power of real news. The result was 60 Minutes’ highest rated episode in almost a decade.
Think about that for a moment.

"60 Minutes" had the first interview with Trump and Pence, after he picked Pence as veep. There is no bigger ratings magnet that Donald Trump, but a piece that featured Cernovich gave theshow its best ratings since Obama won the presidency in 2008.

The truth is out there. So is the audience for it.

Bottle it. Publish it. Make money.

Drudge does.

Cernovich does.

You no longer need a print shop or even a television studio to get that truth out. I suggest those who do own that mortar and brick finally learn from Matt Drudge and quit trying to hide the news.

It just goes to show that the MSM adheres to the philosophy of:

    Iowahawk! Iowahawk! Come back!

  2. The truth always comes out. They refuse to get that.

And they forget one A Lincoln who reminded us you can fool some of the people all of the time and all of the people some of the time, but you can't fool all of the people all of the time.

"Newspapers are run by jokers who think this is still the 1980s"

Hell, they still think it's 1965 when everybody thought they were on America's side.

  4. ". . . the Drudge Report now is worth several times more than Newsweek."

But that's a low bar Don because Newsweek was purchased for $1.

Drudge, and now Cernovich, are doing to brick and mortar news shops what Bezos' Amazon has done to local retailers. It's amusing to think that when it comes to Drudge & Drudge imitators eventually overwhelming his WaPo playtoy, Bezos is being hoisted with his own petard.

  8. It's not news, it's propaganda. The FakeNewsMedia is the propaganda arm of the Dimocrat Party and has been for most of my life (70 years). Over 90% of the people in the FakeNewsMedia vote for Dimocrats. It's only now that America is waking up to this fact. GOC
