Today, President Trump refused to take a question from CNN, after it broadcast a Fake News story about Trump for hour upon hour on Tuesday and today.
The exchange as reported by Media-ite:
With Trump looking to call on other reporters, Jim Acosta yelled out, “Since you are attacking us, can you give us a question?”
“Not you,” Trump said. “Your organization is terrible!”
Acosta pressed on, “You are attacking our news organization, can you give us a chance to ask a question, sir?” Trump countered by telling him “don’t be rude.”
“I’m not going to give you a question,” Trump responded. “I’m not going to give you a question. You are fake news!”
As those on stage by Trump clapped, Acosta retorted, “Now, Mr. President-elect, that’s not appropriate!”CNN is the least trusted cable news network.
Among those who tune in to cable news networks at least occasionally, 42% say Fox News is the channel they generally watch, compared to 35% who turn to CNN and 19% who prefer MSNBC. These findings, too, are little changed from last year.
Among cable news network viewers who watch Fox News most often, 50% say they trust the political news they are getting. That compares to 43% of MSNBC viewers and just 33% who tune in mostly to CNN.Why should anyone trust the network?
During the Saddam Husein era, CNN agreed not to report stories that made Husein look bad in order to keep its Baghdad office open.
The network then bragged about having the only news bureau in Baghdad.
Remember this from Eason Jordan in April 11, 2003?
Over the last dozen years I made 13 trips to Baghdad to lobby the government to keep CNN's Baghdad bureau open and to arrange interviews with Iraqi leaders. Each time I visited, I became more distressed by what I saw and heard -- awful things that could not be reported because doing so would have jeopardized the lives of Iraqis, particularly those on our Baghdad staff.
For example, in the mid-1990's one of our Iraqi cameramen was abducted. For weeks he was beaten and subjected to electroshock torture in the basement of a secret police headquarters because he refused to confirm the government's ludicrous suspicion that I was the Central Intelligence Agency's Iraq station chief. CNN had been in Baghdad long enough to know that telling the world about the torture of one of its employees would almost certainly have gotten him killed and put his family and co-workers at grave risk.Under those circumstances, Jordan should have folded the bureau.
Instead, he allowed his network to do PR for Hussein in exchange for a thing of value: a news bureau his competitors did not have.
How is that not bribing a foreign official?
CNN gave Americans a distorted picture of an adversary we went to war with twice.
But when it comes to the President Of The United States, no rumor is too absurd to be broadcast on CNN.
Well, if that president is a Republican.
CNN has been Fake News for decades.
President Trump shunned them. GOOD.
Please read "Trump the Press," in which I skewer media experts who wrongly predicted Trump would lose the Republican nomination. "Trump the Press" is available as a paperback, and on Kindle.
It covers the nomination process only. The general election will be covered in a sequel.
