An example of how softball coverage has hurt Democrats

The media parrots Democratic Party talking points without embarrassment, which helped elect Obama president. But as those talking points corroded the credibility of the press, the parroting helped elect President Trump.

And the hits keep on coming.

From Roger L. Simon:
Of all the tantrums being thrown by the Democrats in their inability to accept defeat and move on, perhaps the most absurd is the Great Russian Hacking Scandal.
Did the Russians under express orders of Communist Party General Secretary... scratch that... President Vladimir Putin himself direct the hacking of the computers of the Democratic National Committee and the Hillary Clinton campaign?
Simon mocked the source of this conspiratorial theory, Director of National Intelligence James Clapper:
Clapper, it will be remembered, blatantly lied to the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence on March 13, 2013, when he replied to Senator Ron Wyden's question "Does the NSA collect any type of data at all on millions or hundreds of millions of Americans?" with a resounding "no," which the DNI then doubled down on.
Poor Clapper got a bit of egg on his face, several dozen actually, only three months later when Eric Snowden revealed to the world that the NSA was collecting just such data on those millions of Americans via our cellphones.
So the ice is thin, and the sun is shining -- but there goes the Washington Post saying crazy stuff like the Russians have hacked our electrical power grid.

So why is President Obama personally -- and he has said it -- pushing this nonsensical excise for losing an election to:

  1. A rookie candidate
  2. Unloved by a majority of Americans
  3. With half the money Clinton spent

Because Obama thought he could get away with it.

Sure. Why not? He got away with demonizing Sarah Palin. He got away with saying Mitt paid no taxes. He got away with Benghazi. He got away with you can keep your doctor.

And the media by and large is accepting this from President Obama:
Based on uniform intelligence assessments, the Russians were responsible for hacking the DNC and that as a consequence, it is important for us to review all elements of that and to make sure that we are preventing that kind of interference from cyber attacks in the future. My hope is that the president-elect is going to be similarly concerned that we aren’t going to have foreign interference in our election process.
I doubt the public is.

Most normal Americans accept President Trump's victory and think the Democrats are a bunch of entitled brats who need a spanking.

The longer Democrats and their media buddies act like poor sports, the longer they will be out of power.

And if you think the media has any power, you have not been paying attention.

Please read "Trump the Press," in which I skewer media experts who wrongly predicted Trump would lose the Republican nomination. "Trump the Press" is available as a paperback, and on Kindle.

It covers the nomination process only. The general election will be covered in a sequel.

  1. Assange has said at least a half dozen times that the Rooskies were not behind this. Not a huge fan of his, but he should know. The Dems are grasping at straws. Pretty cool. I'm laughing.

    1. And you know the thing the democrats are really pissed about is that segments of America got to find out what the lefties really think about them. All will be forgiven though the next time the democrats propose to scrape those groups some scraps from their plates.

    1. Dave, Dave, Dave! YOU, of all people, must know that lefties are never responsible in any way for bad things "happening" to them.

  3. The media have been lying to us for years. Only the leftists believe the media. How much, I don't know, but it was a requirement for them to be lefties.

  4. Also, Roger L. Simon is rocking the shit right now. Almost as good as Big D. Man, all the smart people are sitting on our side of the field!

  5. Roger L. Simon was way ahead of the pack at PJMedia to see the writing on the wall, that Donald J. Trump was going to be elected President.

He accepted that fact and explained why in several columns, which didn't make him many friends in the TDS-afflicted PJMedia lineup. More power to him!

PJMedia is a neocuck cesspool. Roger is the only decent writer in the bunch.

  6. There is no reason to believe anything Clapper says. I have read the vaunted ICA report (it's very short). It's nothing but a pile of doggie poo. It makes a lot of claims but offers no proof of anything. And when I say NO proof, I mean that literally. It's full of claims with no substantiation of any one of them. It's embarrassingly amateurish, not even high school level. Clearly he along with everyone in his office needs to be shown the door by President Trump on January 21. They are clowns. Let them find a different Circus (reference there to Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy circa 1979).

  7. So my answer to why all this is being blown up is that while everyone is looking at this, Pres Obama is moving huge numbers of US troops and tanks to Russia's borders.

  8. World-class description of Democrats by blogger Tim Blair.

"On January 21, the day after the inauguration, in the middle of an icy Washington winter, about 200,000 or so anti-Trumpers are expected to march around the US capitol, chanting like a briefly focused dementia ward."

    2. And 6 days later, the anti-abortion March For Life folks will descend on DC in approximately the same numbers to be dutifully ignored by the MSM.

  10. It goes both ways. One of the things that talked me around from being neutral-in-favor of Trump to being an actual supporter was watching all the think tank republican commentariat, the George Wills, the National Review set, attack him in exactly the same words and in exactly the same way that Liberals had been attacking GWB for his whole term... and the announce that they'd rather actually HELP HRC win the presidency (knowing exactly what she is) than see a President Trump.
This group of DC loudmouths who hadn't brought home anything but excuses in the past ten years, nor spent a single column attacking the Ryans, Boehners, McConnells, all the other GOPe failures with a tenth of the vitriol they used on DJT... were going to tell ME how to vote?

"Let me get this straight: 'Budget Hawk' Ryan passes a budget LARGER than the Democrats had actually asked for, and includes- for the first time on my memory- Federal tax funding for abortion... and we should all hate DJT because he isn't a 'fiscal conservative' and might not oppose abortion sufficiently? But Ryan- who actually DID this, not just MIGHT DO this- he's okay, right? And I should listen to you people WHY, again"

Shorter version- the flip side of the coin is that overly aggressive, selective, and and ill-mannered attacks on Trump from the "Right" also helped people decide to vote his way.

    1. For me it was the Chris McDaniel / Thad Cochran primary runoff in Mississippi. Establishment repubs, dems and the media piled on McDaniel calling him a racist, etc so that the cadaver of cochranne could continue the charade.

  11. Dave, spot on with the shorter version. I was at CPAC 2016 as a Trump supporter and could not believe the vitriol. It just stoked my fire even more. They'll probably hold CPAC 2017 at a Moose Lodge and still not be able to fill the place.

  12. "So the ice is thin, and the sun is shining -- but there goes the Washington Post saying crazy stuff like the Russians have hacked our electrical power grid."

The idea that the Russkis hacked our power grid is ludicrous. First of all, NERC overseas the grid, and was formed by (not the freaking gubment) industry professionals. They are incredibly sophisticated. I've had the privilege to meet some of the people and tour a couple of facilities, and our Defense Department WISHES it had that kind of security. I've toured First Energy's op center twice. They let you see the big impressive wall screens and consoles from a distance, and show pics of their server farm and go into a little detail about security measures, but believe me, they protect their important stuff like a lioness with newborn cubs.

If you don't believe me, try to get technical info about a substation from your local provider. When they get done laughing they'll tell you to get a court order, and you will find they keep the best firms in the state and country on retainer.
