The latest is from Mark36:
Very interesting book. This story covers the press during the Republican Primary. It does not delve into the Democratic Primary, nor the campaigns of Jeb Bush, Ted Cruz, Marco Rubio, etc. This is a "Miracle at Midway" type tale. Against overwhelming odds, Donald Trump beat back attacks by the DNC, the liberal media, the Republican leadership, and the conservative press.
This book confirmed my thoughts that almost everything Donald Trump did in his campaign was NOT random, NOT haphazard, but well planned and expertly executed. Not to say that he did not make mistakes, but everything worked to his advantage.
Only flaw: Don Surber could have put together a more comprehensive book, but made a decision to trade a bit of coherence to be early to the market.
The most interesting aspect for me was the chapters on the brokered convention. I find it incomprehensible that the Republican Leadership and the conservative press could ever believe that les Deplorables would ever vote for Ted Cruz or Mitt Romney after Cleveland.
I hope that the Republicans never forget that it was disenfranchised Democrats that broke the Blue Wall.Thank you. I agree that substituting Trump after he won it would have backfired.
The book is a stand alone because it covers the destruction of the Republican Party.
SPOILER ALERT: In the sequel he destroys the Democrats and the media.
I don't care who you are as a writer, these reviews are very humbling and very rewarding.
Thank you, readers.
Please read "Trump the Press," in which I skewer media experts who wrongly predicted Trump would lose the Republican nomination. "Trump the Press" is available as a paperback, and on Kindle.
It covers the nomination process only. The general election will be covered in a sequel.
