Trump the Press is more than the tale of how Donald Trump won the 2016 GOP presidential primary. It is a well-researched account of how the arrogance and elitism of our self-declared moral and intellectual betters in the media missed perhaps the biggest political story in many decades.
Nor does it appear that the media has learned from this debacle. As I write this review (early January 2017) many of the same "experts" are now obsessed with supposed Russian hacking of the 2016 election. Inside the hermetically sealed bubble of modern American media wacky conspiracy theories are preferable to dealing with the fact that the uncouth barbarians in flyover country don't take the elites seriously anymore.
Don Surber is already at work on a sequel to Trump the Press. Given the media's preference for myth over substance Mr. Surber should probably plan on writing a series of books on how our media overlords just don't get it.Thank you. This is so encouraging. I hope every reader who enjoyed the book takes the time to post a review.
Oh and copies are available here.
