Obama didn't even try to save Carrier jobs

From Barack Obama in June:
But for those folks who have lost their job right now because a plant went down the Mexico, that isn’t going to make you feel better. And so what we have to do is to make sure that folks are trained for the jobs that are coming in now because some of those jobs of the past are just not going to come back, and when somebody says, like the person you just mentioned who I’m not going to advertise for, that he’s going to bring all these jobs back, well how exactly are you going to do that? What are you going to do?
There’s — there’s no answer to it. He just says, “Well, I’m going to negotiate a better deal.” Well, how — what — how exactly are you going to negotiate that? What magic wand do you have? And usually, the answer is he doesn’t have an answer.
Come January 20 we will have a president who cares.

  1. Make allowances for a guy who's never held a real job. He's not clear on what this whole "Work" jive is.

    1. You said "jive"! That's raaaaacist! But then he is, and you are correct.

  2. Buckley started National Review saying that someone need to be standing athwart history shouting "Stop!" Then his organization became an organ of promoting liberalism on a lag, and both libertarian economics and philosophical hooey that involved the same historical linearity that the progressives practice. Yeah, trends continue infinitely. If you care to read about the origins of it read The Great Chain of Being by Arthur Lovejoy. It's Neoplatonic principle of plenitude and continuity applied to everything. There has never been a complete uncontradictory philosophy built on it, but it is used in day to day thought by more of us than we realize. It is also the basis of the idea that historical trends are inevitable and that there are no great men who influence events, they only think they do, and some of us are foolish enough to believe them.
So Obama thinks it's OK to lay back and say, "Too bad all you Midwestern white folk are loosing the patrimony of your forebears. Suck it up and adapt."
I don't think he will ever get it. It's so nice to know that he won't have any influence over our lives any more.

  3. The President has no power to influence jobs and large businesses in the U.S.?! Of course he does, Obama just doesn't want to use it, and he thinks we're all too stupid to know the difference. Good riddance to that lying POS loser.

  6. Of course he didn't. He cares not for the flyover lowlifes. He's got a big retirement payment coming every year henceforth.

  7. Barry doesn't know how to negotiate because he never has...really simple. He's as clueless as ever.

  8. Barry wants as many people on welfare as he can get.

    Trump wants people working.

  9. Don, you need to listen to Mark "Free Trade" Levin, who will get you straightened out on these things! See, Levin's hero obama knows what he is doing b/c he does not interfere and throw his weight in around in such matters, rather he allows the market to work its magic. Bully Donald Trump gets in there and screws it all up b/c he interferes with Levin's beloved and hallowed 'free market', and screws up everything. Trump saves jobs and helps rebuild America and works really hard to do so (while he could be happily semi-retired); Obama OTOH golfs --- and watches jobs go overseas and our manufacturing base and communities to be hollowed out. That is why Trump is such a bully, and why Levin loves obama. Levin would not know the concept of "free trade" if it fell on his fat head. Don don't you appreciate me listening to Levin so you don't have to!

  10. There were simply no points for him to make on this issue. No liberal political points, no social justice warrior points, no racially dividing points, nothing in the long list of reasons Little Che-obama did anything for 8 years. Ergo, he did nothing to even try to save these jobs.

  11. Lovejoy's historical survey of the idea of the Great Chain of Being is superb. But as he notes, the idea didn't get "historicized" until around the end of the 18th century--that is, the idea that all of creation is perfect and complete becomes the idea that all of creation is perfect and complete as it works itself out through time and history. This is the heart of the idea of modern progress, the historical version of the idea of the Great Chain.
