Muslim says President Trump will be good for Muslims

Ramachandra B. Abhyankar, a professor at Indiana State University, is a frequent writer of letters to the editor. He teaches math and computer science.

His latest letter to the Tribune-Star in Terre-Haute offered hope for the next four (hopefully, eight) years:
Trump will be good for U.S. and world
President-elect Donald Trump is putting together an impressive team. His picks for Secretary of Defense, National Security Adviser, CIA chief, and Secretary for Homeland Security have put ISIS and Orthodox Islam on notice. History shows that the U.S. has saved the world from Nazism and communism. Under Donald Trump, the U.S. will save the world from ISIS and Orthodox Islam.
The American Thinker recently published an article suggesting how Donald Trump may bring about an Islamic Reformation, thus saving the world from disaster. Freedom and tolerance will triumph over hate and tyranny.
Despite his original “Muslim ban” proposal, Trump has supporters among reformist Muslims, ex-Muslims and gay Muslims (Orthodox Islam calls for the killing of ex-Muslims and gays). These “Trump Muslims” are an important voting block, like the “Reagan Democrats.” These Trump Muslims may well have helped Trump win crucial states in the recent presidential election. The defeat of Orthodox Islam will also lead to better lives for Kafirs (non-Muslims), who are leading lives of desperation in orthodox Islamic countries.
Trump will be good, not just for the U.S., but for the entire world.
Just a little reminder that some Muslims are worthy of being American.

Please read "Trump the Press," in which I skewer media experts who wrongly predicted Trump would lose the Republican nomination. "Trump the Press" is available as a paperback, and on Kindle.

  1. I mentioned during the primary that one of my Muslim patients announced to me that he had voted for Trump. I had been seeing this guy for many years (over twenty) and had always wondered about him because he had never spoken to me about terrorism. I know what he thinks now simply because of the way he voted. It was nice to find out before I retired.

  2. No such thing as a Trump Muslim. All Muslims hate America. Period.

    1. This comment has been removed by the author.

    2. Not all, as I know from personal experience. But yes many, maybe a majority world wide, do. I try not to judge individual Muslims in American on that basis any more than I do Democrats which as a party had fostered the KKK, segregation and Jim Crow.

    3. You mean the same KKK that endorsed Trump? What about Surber's hometown being named a refugee settlement by the U.S. State Department. Should those Muslims be allowed into W.Va. or not?

    4. And a different group within the KKK endorsed HRC as well as former Nazi and criminal billionaire Soros who was her 2nd largest contributors at one time in the campaign and provided the funds for many of the protests that turned violent. HRC also said that Senator "KKK" Byrd (D-WV) was her mentor. She is a follower of Saul Alinsky
"What about Surber's hometown being named a refugee settlement by the U.S. State Department" I hadn't read that and maybe because the Obama government turns the settlement of refugees to NGOs which will not release where they are being settled, even to governors as Governor Walker has protested against.

    5. The Left has a hissy fit over a few neo-KKK wingnuts who endorsed DJT, but has no problem with the home grown Communists who endorsed HRC. The KKK is not and will never be a threat to America. They are outcasts. The Communists and neo-Fascists deeply embedded within the Democrat Party have long been a threat and will continue to be a threat to America and democracy.

    6. I remember someone writing that the easiest way to tell who the FBI infiltrators were in the KKK (and in Commie cells) was to check and see who was paying their dues on time.
I wonder how many actual klanspersons we have any more, and how many are just poseurs and jerks trying to get a reaction.
Speaking of jerks, that Dylan Roof slimeball managed to get many folks panties in a wad over the Confederate Battle Flag since he posted pictures of him with it. So why didn't folks try to close down Gold's Gym since he also wore tshirts advertising them.

  3. Hmmm. This fellow is apparently a member of a very small minority of Muslims. "Reformist Muslims, ex-Muslims and gay Muslims?" Who are they? (Cue crickets chirping.) The overwhelming majority of Muslims who follow the Quran have effectively silenced them. - Elric

    1. The Social Islamic Warriors are the Stasi who frighten the other into silence.

  4. This Muslim for Trump is so thankful to Allah ta ala for Trump being elected.
I wouldnt flee this country out of fear of Trump because I admire the man tremendously, both for his accomplishments before and after the ring of formal politics.
Have enjoyed mr Surber's blog for months now. My only regret is not finding mr Surbers blog sooner or commenting sooner (or being in a position to contribute in a big financial way to mr Surbers excellent works.
I look forward to seeing Trump accomplish his goal of making America great again.
I look forward to seeing mr Trump make Isreal safe again (they deserve their place in the Middle East as much as the others).
Among the things that saddens me is the treatment of minorities like Christians and Jews in the Middle East.
(Was raised by communist atheists who taught me to hate this country and have come to study its history that led me to understand despite its faults, this is a land of opportunity and among the greatest nations in the history of the world if not the outright best evah).
America took in many secular Iranians after the fall in '78.
These secular Muslims are in danger from the wackjobs of our religion and fled to the safest place in the world for secular adherents.
Though I was taught to never say merry christmas (years ago when I embraced Islam), I heartily wish folks a Merry Christmas in part because I like to see how it lights up their faces.
I wish folks a Happy Hanakah though there are likely fewer folks for whom this applies.
I do not celebrate Christmas because I do not though I do sincerely wish folks a merry, joyous and safe gathering for the Christmas holy day (not holiday) and the 11 days thereafter.
Cannot thank mr Surber enough for his excellent work
libby (not a name, an attitude. Was raised liberal and I never abandoned those ideals while so many liberals around me became more and more intolerant).
The most flack I took for my religious choice over 20 years ago was from the mouths of those pretending to be liberal.
My wife does have an advanced degree in a high tech field. like me, she is circumcised though not to the extent that she cannot achieve pleasure from heterosexual intimacy (not too graphic I hope) though I recognize a difference between circumcision of mutalation (mutalation of women I find entirely reprehensible).
Was raised for a time by lesbian feminists and many couldnt understand how someone who espouses the ideals of feminism could possibly become a Muslim.
Besides having a pretty wife, my goal was to have the smartest woman I could possibly find to share my life with.
I may not be prototypical, but this is who I am.
Terrorism disgusts me to no end and Trump was the only candidate our of the gate willing to addreds the serious issue of Islamoc extremism.
With Obama supprting the extremists, it is largely very unsafe to soeak out against Islamix extremism and Islamic terrorism (my mother the womens historian, communist to the core, npr listening atheist to this day cannot understand my love of Trump and wont even allow me to speak of him in her presence, but I love love love the donald anyway, not as much as my mother for whom i disagre on almost every political issue, but darn close)

  6. In the wake of Berlin, British police increase patrols to "combat Islamophobia". Yes, that's right.

Bristol police step up patrols to combat Islamophobia after Berlin Christmas market attack
Chief Superintendent Jon Reilly, area commander for Bristol, confirmed patrols had been increased in the city centre.

He said: "Following previous terror attacks across mainland Europe we have seen an increase in the number of reported Islamophobic hate crimes in the Avon and Somerset area.

"We have subsequently increased patrols in areas of Bristol which have high footfall in order to provide additional reassurance and to act as a visible deterrent. We also hope it will aid and encourage reporting of any hate crimes or incidents should they occur.

"We want those who are victims of hate crime to feel confident in the belief that we'll take their reports seriously, protect them and make sure they get all the support they need.

"We'd also like to reassure everyone that we, along with the security and intelligence services, are tirelessly working together to keep you safe.

    1. Where is the feared Muslim Backlash Party? Why are they so secretive as to never blow their cover by backlashing?

  7. We already have a Muslim registry: the National Security Entry-Exit Registration System, or NSEERS. It was a program that targeted visitors from Muslim-majority countries and was phased out in 2011—but unless it’s dismantled completely, Donald Trump could easily reinstate it.

After 9/11 we had much more unity, so I imagine the Democrat didn't scream about it. But they are now because Trump proposed something that was already in existence that most had never heard of over the past 14 years. I would think that the Democrats, during Bushes second term, would have screamed bloody murder.

    1. An entry-exit registration system ought to exist for *all* here on visas, not just that specified group.
We really should know who's here.
