From June Cleaver:
Great book for people like me who want to keep score...
Don Surber's well written book reminds us that President Elect Trump battled not just 16 highly qualified GOP candidates but the entire GOP, Democratic party, media, pundits, strategists, consultants AND WON. Lest we forget (and the pundits dearly hope we will) how dismissive, myopic and condescending they all were, this book names names to remind us.
I was a Trump supporter from almost the first day and stopped watching Bret Baier's newscast when his panelists George Will, Steve Hayes and Charles Krauthammer each labeled Trump a "rodeo clown" without any attempt to justify the label - just like the left does. That was my signal that they saw Trump as a threat to their personal power making him worthy of my serious consideration. Up to that time I looked to the opinions of these men and frequent panelists Jonah Goldberg & Bill Kristol in taking positions on complex matters.
Trump the Press shows that the knives were out for Trump not because he wasn't qualified/conservative/informed, etc., but because he didn't have and never asked their permission. And that, of course, is why ordinary Americans voted for him.
This book covers the primaries up to the convention. I'm looking forward to a follow up Surber book on the press and the general election/recount/electoral college vote.Thank you.
The sequel is on the way.
She pointed out how people have stopped watching the Fox News All-Stars. Yep. And here I thought I was the only one.
