Dumbass of the day

Besides being a son of former New York Times editorial page editor Abe Rosenthal, columnist Andy Rosenthal of the New York Times is a mind-reader. He knows exactly what Trump supporters think!

From the Amazing Andy:
What Trump Supporters Want You to Believe
No. 1 on the list is:
Vladimir Putin, an unabashed dictator who invades other countries, tramples on his people’s civil and human rights, and has the blood of Russian journalists on his hands is the proper role model for an American president.
Where would the Trumpkins get such an idea? Maybe when Hillary hit the re-set button in 2009 and mocked the "Cold War mentality." Or maybe when Obama said at the third presidential debate on October 23, 2012:
“The 1980s are now calling to ask for their foreign policy back because the Cold War’s been over for 20 years.”
Or maybe from Andy Rosenthal's column on March 28, 2012:
Two decades after the end of the cold war, Mitt Romney still considers Russia to be America’s “No. 1 geopolitical foe.” His comments display either a shocking lack of knowledge about international affairs or just craven politics. Either way, they are reckless and unworthy of a major presidential contender.
Or maybe his blanket statement about what I and every single Trump supporter thinks is false.

Yes, many of us are willing to work with Russia to stop the Islamic State, but FDR fought World War II alongside Stalin -- who despite denials by the New York Times at the time starved 7.5 million Ukrainians in the 1930s, on his way to the slaughter of 50 million Russians as head of the Evil Empire.

Putting words in people's mouths and then bashing them for saying things is a child's game.

  1. Was Andy the Mind-Reader grinning when he said that, Don?

If he was, sounds like it's time for you to strike a happy medium.

  2. Apparently the job requirements to write for the NYT do NOT include logical consistency nor the ability to remember the last lie you told.

The job requirements for NYT opinioner and a PR flak are roughly the same.

According to Gallup (via Drudge and the Wash Times) trust in media has dropped to an all time low. On average only 32% trust the media "a great deal or a fair amount". Split by party affiliation: Dem 51%, Ind 30% and Rep 14%.

I would imagine "trust in media" and IQ are strongly negatively correlated.

    1. It's an overwhelmingly Left/Democrat press, but they can't even get Dems to trust them? Damn....

    2. Dave - It's because every now and then someone like Matt Lauer messes up and asks Crooked Cankles a hard question. All of a sudden he's biased and a traitor. It is truly amazing how many Dimocrats think there is a right wing bias to the LSM AKA the p[ropaganda arm of the Dimocrat Party.

  3. They have certainly earned our distrust and disdain.

  4. Given the plethora and diversity of dumbasses at the moment ... and let's face it, every parrot in the Leftist media pet-shop is yakking it up big time ... I don't think a "Dumbass of the Day" is sufficient.

Couldn't you institute a "Dial For Latest Dumbass" hotline number, Don?

  5. Gee, I remember when the Gray Lady was waxing rhapsodic over the fact Yuri Andropov liked jazz.
