Another day in Chiraq. She was one of three people shot and killed in Chicago in separate incidents. In July, Chicagoans killed 65 of their own, In the past week, Chicagoans shot and killed 17 Chicagoans. The carnage increased 30 percent in the past year as Black Lives Matter has intimidated police to sty out of black neighborhoods, in an effort by black nationalists to control black neighborhoods. It's despicable.
But the murder of Aldridge drew attention because she is a cousin of Dwayne Wade, a basketball star who moved back to Chicago amid much fanfare and hope to play for the Bulls this season.
From the Chicago Tribune:
Aldridge had gone to register her children at Dulles School of Excellence when the shooting happened, said the Rev. Edward Jones Sr., a spokesman for the family. The school is next to the Parkway Gardens apartment complex where Aldridge had lived for about four months, Jones said.
Aldridge is the daughter of Wade's mother's sister, the pastor said. He said Aldridge had four children, the youngest just a couple of weeks old.
“(She was a) Christian woman, a loving mother and somebody who aspired to make a life for herself and her family,” Jones said.
Wade issued a statement on Twitter late Friday.
“My cousin was killed today in Chicago. Another act of senseless gun violence. 4 kids lost their mom for NO REASON. Unreal. #EnoughIsEnough,” the post read.Democrats in Chicago and nationally are responsible for this. The last Republican mayor of that city -- Big Bill Thompson -- left office 85 years ago.
For the first time ever, a presidential candidate is using law and order to reach out to black voters.
The New York Times in a "news story" ripped Trump.
From the New York Times:
Donald J. Trump took to Twitter on Saturday morning to comment on the news that a cousin of Dwyane Wade, the NBA. star, had been shot and killed in Chicago, linking the death to his effort to win support from African-American voters.
“Dwayne Wade’s cousin was just shot and killed walking her baby in Chicago,” Mr. Trump wrote, misspelling Mr. Wade’s given name, which was later corrected. “Just what I have been saying. African-Americans will VOTE TRUMP!”
Mr. Trump, who initially did not express sympathy for the family of the slain woman, Nykea Aldridge, later in the day posted a Twitter message offering his condolences.
Mr. Trump has been courting African-American voters by painting a dire picture of life in minority communities, one troubled by poverty, violence and dysfunction, especially in “inner cities.”
His case to black voters is that minority communities have suffered because of failed Democratic policies, and that they should support his candidacy.
“What the hell do you have to lose?” he has said frequently over the past week in a rhetorical question aimed at African-Americans.Things are dire in Chicago.
They got worse under a black president from Chicago.
Vote Trump. Save black lives.
