RNC convention is payback for Colorado's

First, I want to apologize to readers for writing kind words about Senator Mike Lee in the past. Turns out, he's an -- um, rhymes with glass bowl.

Today, he really showed himself when he supported a staged walkout by Colorado delegates and other Cruz supporters.

From Politico:
Sen. Mike Lee (R-Utah) declared that he had never seen anything like what transpired on the floor of Quicken Loans Arena after Republican leaders bypassed a call for a full floor vote on the convention rules.
"I have never in all my life, certainly in six years in the United States Senate, prior to that as a lifelong Republican, never seen anything like this," Lee said. "There is no precedent for this in parliamentary procedure. There is no precedent for this in the rules of the Republican National Convention. We are now in uncharted territory. Somebody owes us an explanation. I have never seen the chair abandoned like that. They vacated the stage entirely."
The chair had ruled that there were not enough voice votes to support a formal vote. Given that Trump supporters outnumber Cruz's, that makes sense.

But Ted Cruz and his cronies are also hypocrites. Remember the Colorado Convention?

From NPR in April:
Donald Trump's Colorado supporters are gathering at the state capital Friday to make some noise about a political process they say has left them voiceless. The backlash from Trump's supporters has included thousands of voicemails and texts a day to the state Republican Party's chairman, some threatening, after his phone number was leaked online.
The protest comes in response to last weekend's state assembly, where Texas Sen. Ted Cruz succeeded in locking up all of the state's 34 open Republican National Convention delegates, shutting Trump out of all but a handful of alternate slots.
The story also said:
"We want to have a peaceful protest and just gather and swap stories and have a showing of the vast number of people who were disenfranchised this year," said organizer Erin Behrens of Arvada, Colo.
Behrens says her frustration with the process started on Super Tuesday, when the party volunteer running her precinct caucus appeared to be actively discouraging Trump supporters from participating further in the process. The final result at the state assembly just confirmed her fears.
"When we saw that all 34 delegates were going to Cruz, it was even worse because I saw that what happened at my isolated precinct caucus, that happened all over the state on Super Tuesday," Behrens said.
I hear that paybacks are a female dog.

  1. I hear the One True Ted's following in TX has really taken a hit.

And he's up for re-election in 2 years.

    Primary, anyone?

  2. Pure conservatives are upset that they couldn't get a sure loser the nomination and are having a hissy fit.

  3. Mike Lee is one of Mark Levin's heroes. Cannot stand listening to Levin, whom I once listened to almost every pm. Another one with TDS.

    1. Man I am with you Farm Boy. Levin's gone off the deep end. Non compos mentis. Switched him off for good about 8 months ago.

  4. Being in CO, I would like to know if all the Cruz delegates including Ken Buck walked out. If so, remembering about payback, I will never vote of buck, his family or anyone he ever supports.

  5. The CruzCult NeverTrump bots ahve all the charm of a stompy footed, head banging, temper tantrum throwing five year old. They should be treated like the children they are.

    1. Exactly! They're on the 'floor' having a screaming tantrum like a 2-y-o.

  6. I hope the GOP realizes that if they sabotage Trump, then the GOP itself is dead. Permanently. A rump party at best. They'll have less power than the Black Caucus.

Do they think we'll be back in 2020? Are they that stupid?

If they eff this up now, then America becomes a single-party country. And the Democrats will make sure it stays that way for good.

  7. Does Sen Lee not remember what the Senate was like when Dingy Harry was running it?

  8. Levin increasingly comes across as a pompous legal scholar obsessed with legislative process and arcane details of the Constitution. The hemorraging of jobs and entire industries, and porous borders and a third world invasion, seem to have little meaning to him. He can't bring himself to say one good word about Donald Trump, one of our nation's most successful business leaders and who truly cares about the nation and its people. WMAL should yank Levin and put Steve Malzberg in his place.
