Ninth Amazon review for "Trump the Press"

I was pleased today to read another reader review on Amazon for "Trump the Press," which by custom I shall post here.

A longtime reader, Katharine G. Myerson, wrote:
Those pundits…they think they’re such smartypants
Chapter 4 in Don Surber’s book, “Trump the Press,” is titled HOW DARE HE RUN! After reading Surber’s book, I imagine more than a few pundits are fuming, HOW DARE HE QUOTE ME! You see, Surber took notes as the pundits hoisted themselves on their own petards, over and over and over and…
Chapter 3 Trump Won’t Run
Chapter 5 Trump Cannot Win
Chapter 6 Peak Trump
Just to name a few.
And then he catalogued them in this book, together with his own witty observations.
I began reading Surber’s book as the 2016 RNC began gearing up in Cleveland. I finished reading on the first day of the convention, about the time the NeverTrumpers were attempting their last-ditch effort, and failed, to deny Trump the nomination. Which brought to mind: Chapter 31 It’s Our Party. We’ll Destroy If We Want To.
If I was forced to pick just one quote, I could not top the one with which Surber begins his book:
“Trump has a better chance of cameoing in another Home Alone movie with Macaulay Culkin—or playing in the NBA Finals—than winning the Republican nomination.”—Harry Enten, FiveThirtyEightPolitics, June 16, 2016.
Those pundits…they think they’re such smartypants.
I giver her a big thank you for that fine review. I am so glad she enjoyed the book. It was a fun book to research and write.

More reviews are coming, right?

Oh, one more thing, Amazon sent me one of those auto-generated emails that read "Based on your recent visit, we thought you might be interested in these items." Heading the list? "Trump the Press."

"Trump the Press: Don Surber's take on how the pundits blew the 2016 Republican race," is now on sale.

Steve Hayward of Power Line, Leslie Eastman at Legal Insurrection, and Austin Bay at Instapundit gave it glowing reviews.

  1. @Don: Just curious to know a little about how you went about writing your book. As a (former/recovering) journalist, did you have access to any special software or subscription news service to help you gather the quotes you included in the text, or did you do it like the rest of us would have done, by brute force with Google? Did you set about organizing the various quotes into chapters using standard personal computer word processing software or by using other software that working news journalists use?

  2. I gave it a well deserved 5-star rating.
