To journalists noting 'dark' speech: Trump must have been reading your recent nation-on-edge, violence-leaves-Americans-anxious headlines.

FULL SPEECH: Donald Trump - Republican National Conventionhttp://commoncts.blogspot.com/2016/07/full-speech-donald-trump-republican.html
You can keep it. Thanks though.
Why even bother to comment, Lily?
I read Trump's speech at Jim Hoft's Gateway Pundit and was inspired, uplifted. It was Reaganesque in its optimism and hope for the future. Maybe York found it dark because Trump accurately sketched the dire circumstances into which Obama and Clinton have driven the country -- sovereign bankruptcy, race war, chaos in the Middle East, criminal invasion from Mexico and Central America, jihad brought to the American homeland. These are dark times. But I'm with you. Byron York is one of the very few bylines that I can read without getting the strong impression of a DNC, GOPe, globalist slant.Steve in Greensboro
Trump is promising optimism, hope, and a greater America for everyone. Hillary and the left is responding with "America is a cesspool of racism, sexism, homophobia and Islamophobia! We're an awful country filled with hateful people! Vote for me!" I know what message I'm buying.
Voter idealism and self-interest are converging in this election. The voters feel like they're in a canoe poised on the edge of the falls.Trump's on one bank, offering to throw them a rope, Clinton's on the other, extolling the merits of her gold-plated anvil. This ain't rocket science.
It the mainstream media that's trying hysterically to convince us to hate and distrust our local police.
I saw a collage of "dark" headlines someone posted. The papers and sites are all taking marching orders from Hillary and goosestepping to her cadence, which sounds, strangely enough, like an ape having a coughing fit.
When the press was complaining that Trump was unfairly painting a "dark" picture of America, somebody commented, "Don't they even WATCH the news they're always reporting?"
