None dare call it fascism

So last night in the Bay Area where everyone is so tolerant of anything that is abnormal, but nothing that is normal, rioters battled police and Trump supporters. The press called these gangs of thugs "protesters," as if there were a cause other than an attempt to intimidate people from openly supporting the Republican nominee.

From Heavy.com:
Protests quickly turned violent at a Trump rally in San Jose, California today. According to witnesses at the rally, supporters were chased into a parking garage, had bottles thrown at them, and ended up cut and bleeding. Tim Pool livecast the protests from his Periscope account. He posted several videos on YouTube from the protests, including the one above.
Here’s what you need to know.
One Trump supporter said he walked out with a Trump sign and people just started following him and throwing things at him. Tim Pool, who broadcast on Periscope live from the rally, said on one of his broadcasts: “We’ve seen eggs thrown, bottles thrown … someone threw a glow stick at the cops earlier… The ones who are (starting the fights) are wearing masks.”
From BuzzFeed:
In the hours leading up to Trump’s speech, protesters and Trump supporters verbally sparred in the street outside the San Jose convention center. But while heated, those exchanges remained relatively civil.
As protesters ranks swelled from a few dozen to several hundred, they became increasingly hostile, jeering Trump supporters trickling into the event behind a wall of police.
But it wasn’t until supporters began leaving the rally that things turned ugly. Trump backers, safe behind the police, tossed taunts back at the raucous protesters, unaware that the line of officers ended only a few yards away — leaving them directly exposed.
Wow. It's like Baltimore when a Democratic mayor told police to stand down and let rioters destroy parts of a city in an act of racial violence.

From the Los Angeles Times:
Police were keeping their distance from the crowd as the scuffles played out but kept them from getting any closer to the convention center.
"Our police officers have done an extremely courageous and professional job so far," San Jose Mayor Sam Liccardo told the Associated Press by phone. "We're all still holding our breath to see the outcome of this dangerous and explosive situation."
The mayor, a Democrat and Hillary Clinton supporter, criticized Trump for coming to cities and igniting problems that local police departments have to deal with.
"At some point Donald Trump needs to take responsibility for the irresponsible behavior of his campaign," Liccardo said.
Yes, how dare his supporters stop with their faces the eggs Liccardo's supporters throw. When a mayor condones political violence, he fits the description of fascism. Legal remedies should be available even in the kangaroo courts of California, where judges ruled that wearing an American flag on Cinco de Mayo is a crime.

Conventional wisdom is this will help Trump. I don't know about that. The last time this happened -- in 1968 -- we had a press that was patriotic and decent. World War II and Korean War veterans dominated the ranks of the ink-stained wretches of the Fourth Estate.

Now we have a bunch of Social Justice Warriors with bylines. Their initial shock likely will give way to sympathy for the devils waving Mexican flags on American soil.

The Democratic Party cannot argue ideas, integrity, or competence this year. They plan is intimidation and violence this year. Until the party's leader, Barack Obama, stands up and condemns this violence unequivocally, the only logical conclusion is he supports the rioters as he travels safely behind an armada of black SUVs filled with squads of Praetorian guards.

  1. Wearing masks in public during a riot indicates an outlaw. Outlaws should not enjoy protection of the law because they are indeed, outlaws. Make it open season on assaulting outlaws.

    1. Just arm everyone with pepper spray and let the crying begin.

    2. Here in NC, wearing a mask in public is ILLEGAL. The assumption is that if you don't want to be identified by your neighbors, you must be up to no good. Old law dating back to the Night Riders.

    3. When I was in Tampa for the 2012 Republican convention the Tampa mayor had the police stop everyone with masks and let them them know they were forbidden. It makes a huge difference...

  2. What ever happened to reading the Riot Act? Give the mob ten minutes to disperse, then open fire. Any survivors will be prosecuted for felonies.

As for Trump attendees, the should have had more sense than to taunt such a mob, even from behind a line of police. And no matter where you are or what the situation, watch your flanks and rear. - Elric

    1. The Riot Act is British. IIRC, when someone reads the Riot Act to a mob and they do not disperse, the next words are, "Commence firing".

    2. Yes, it's British, but it's spot on. And it actually allows an hour to "disperse themselves and peaceably depart." The First Amendment provides for the "right of the people peaceably to assemble." If it's a riot, other laws apply. - Elric

    3. The stazi (good union members, I'm sure) were on the protester's side. They wouldn't have intervened if the Democrats were lynching people (which Democrats have a long history of doing)

    4. The police work for the mayor and the mayor supported the rioters... and their attacks. No one was going to read any proverbial riot act to them.

  3. They weren't thugs.

They were savages. Things like that make you wonder if Phil Sheridan was right, after all.

And we all know Black Narcissus approves. He brought them here. He makes sure they're on welfare, on food stamps, have public housing, get medical assistance. If he had a son, he would have looked like anyone of those animals.

Really? Remember Dan Blather getting hauled away by Richard J Daley's cops? Remember Wally Crankcase lying through his teeth about Tet?

It may have been locally in some places, but the networks and the national press (WaPo, Gray Lady, Time, Newsweek) were Lefty as Hell.

But the word is getting out. If it weren't for the Internet, there would be no Donald Trump.

  6. Crap, that sounds almost as bad as what I put up with as a Trump supporter at CPAC in March. Believe me, o brothers and friends, there are more than a few Republicans who were gleeful about last night. Which is why they suck too right now.

  7. In the old days, the Dems used union goons to terrorize their opponents. In this election, substantial numbers of union members are leaning towards Trump, having finally realized that the crony capitalism of the Democrat Party is aligned with rich plutocrats against the best interests of American workers. So now the Dems are forced to recruit their muscle from the ranks of the communist supporters of Bernie Sanders and the illegal aliens who back Hillary Clinton. Make no mistake. These thugs are not protesters; they are terrorists. Each riot should be labeled for what it is: an act of internal terrorism. They are not spontaneous, local political protests. They well organized efforts of terrorism on a national scale that are designed to disrupt the upcoming election to the same end as the attacks on 9/11. They deserve the full attention of the Department of Homeland Security and the Department of Justice.

  8. The Donald should hire a smallish video crew with really good long lenses and tape all the rioters, and then give copies of the tapes to the police and the State AG to prosecute them. With videotape of the presentation, and signatures of who received them.

  12. Concealed carry, defend yourself.
There is a right before the First Amendment, the right to life and to defend your own and your family.
I am afraid this right will be exercised at many events in the next 5 months.

  13. Simple question: who carries a egg with them when they go out for a walk ?

  14. Don, the press was full of Democratic operatives with bylines back in '68 -- you surely remember the guys Spiro Agnew called "the nattering nabobs of negativism." It was the people themselves who saw through the leftist reporting and voted the way they did. (I knew Nixon was no prize, but he was better than HHH.)I'm hoping the people will step up again this November.

I was a part of the NeverTrump crew until these "protests" began. The Donald still causes my eyes and ears to bleed when he's on TV, but he's much preferable to having an ally of these fascist thugs in the White House.

    1. How about the times Trump egged on his supporters to punch out people. I don't want that in the white house. The violence began inside Trump rallies, not outside. That stuff has a way of coming back at you.

    2. "Punch back twice as hard".... Barack Obama

You've already got "that" in your white house.

    3. no, Trump urged people to punch back NOT to initiate the punching ... see the difference ? probably not I guess ...

  15. Please, everyone, stop calling them "protesters." They are organized, funded, and show up with the intention of rioting--they are "rioters". The most aggressive ones are wearing masks--no coincidence.

This election is now about whether this country continues to have free elections or mob rule. Everything else is trivial. And the question for everybody, starting with Bill Kristol and the #NeverTrumpers, is, "Which side are you on?"

  17. Of course it's going to help Trump. Enough Americans still believe in the "right of the people peaceably to assemble" to understand that the fascistic Left is a danger to American freedoms. They don't need the press to translate what is happening into bite-sized, easy-to-swallow, platitudes. Trump would be an idiot not to use pictures and video of what's happening at his rallies in his campaign ads. He should invite the lady who had the eggs thrown in her face to be on the platform with him when he gives his acceptance speech at the convention. Every egg, every punch, means 20 more Trump voters.

  18. These are "protesters" much the same as the "protesters" at Benghazi.

No wonder the Democrats have trouble understanding what happened to Amb. Chris Stephens.
