Trump's list of Supreme Court nominees boxes in Hillary

I am convinced this is Donald Trump's world. We just live in it. Take his latest move. While other candidates leak to the press possible vice presidential nominees, Trump gave them a more important list: His possible nominees for the Supreme Court.

No one has done that before.

And Hillary cannot match that because she is stuck with Obama's nominee, Merrick Garland. If she is elected, Obama still picks the nominee.

If Mr. Trump is elected, Mr. Trump picks the nominee.

Alpha male, beta female.

From the Associated Press:
Donald Trump, the presumptive Republican nominee for president, has released a list of 11 potential Supreme Court justices he plans to vet to fill the seat of late Justice Antonin Scalia if he's elected to the White House.
Trump's picks include Steven Colloton of Iowa, Allison Eid of Colorado and Raymond Gruender of Missouri.
Also on the list are: Thomas Hardiman of Pennsylvania, Raymond Kethledge of Michigan, Joan Larsen of Michigan, Thomas Lee of Utah, William Pryor of Alabama, David Stras of Minnesota, Diane Sykes of Wisconsin and Don Willett of Texas. Trump had previously named Pryor and Sykes as examples of kind of justices he would choose.
Now for the punchline: Judge Sykes is the ex-wife of Charlie Sykes, a radio talker in Wisconsin who gave Trump a hard time. However, Sykes is a favorite of conservatives.

Texas state Justice Willett is popular on Twitter among conservatives. Humorous as well.

UPDATE: Roger D. Simon (quoted favorably in my book a couple of times) wonders if this kills off Never Trump.

  2. As I wrote yesterday about Trump's campaign ad that featured the Trump-1 airplane and Trump-1 helicopter, he's sending the message that he's the presumptive president-elect, that the election is over, and that he's won. He's getting people used to thinking of him in that light and, at the same time, seeing Hillary as a loser. Brilliant! When the Democratic Party comes apart at the seams at the convention in a fight between the Left and the Far Left, it will be Game Over. Even Humpty Dumpty won't be able to put the Donkey party back together again.

  6. NeverTrump will fade into nothingness. The list won't really kill it, but it's just another indication of how in charge he is.

  7. He's now given me a reason to vote for him WITHOUT holding my nose. Let's see what else he does.

  10. Calling Barry a beta female is inappropriate on so many levels. Not wrong, just inappropriate.

    1. I read it as Hill's the beta, not Obama. As you said, it's not wrong, but I disagree that it's inappropriate.
