Arrested for driving while black -- at 67 mph in a 45 mph zone

Police pulled over Imani Perry, a professor of African American studies at Princeton, on Saturday for driving 67 in a 45 mph zone. Because she had an outstanding warrant, they arrested her. Because they arrested her, they handcuffed her, MSN reported.

She boo-hooed on Twitter:

By cell, I think she meant cellphone, not jail cell.

And finally....
Yes it does.

  1. Sounds like she got off easy. She should have paid her parking ticket like us peons are required to. - Elric

  2. White cop, black cop, Hispanic cop, Asian cop?

  3. It's ONLY because she's BLACK!!!! That's her story, and she's sticking to it.

  4. 67 in a 45? I've been pulled over for less than that. From what I understand, thankfully not from personal experience, that if you have a warrant when they pull you over arrest is pretty much SOP. They aren't going to let you go with a promise to pay since you didn't do it the first time.

From her tweets it appears the police are pushing back against her account of the arrest. If she's putting false info out there then good for them.

  5. I would be extremely surprised if the police departments around Princeton were not well trained in how to deal with entitled egos and how to avoid lawsuits.

Remember with H.L. 'Skip' Gates at Harvard and how so much was to be made out of that and how that worked out to the point that Obama had to have he and Biden meet with the officer and the professor in order to get the egg off of his face? Because it is obvious that the Cambridge, Massachusetts, Police Department is composed of Roscoe P. Coltrane and Buford T. Justice. Just like those around Princeton are made up of Elroy Lobo.

Prediction: Twitter account will be deleted and professor will end up with a suspension as the local prosecutor sends the minute-by-minute recording of elitist anger that a mere cop had stopped the progress of her entitled majesty to the university.

  6. #1 Liar.
    #2 Black privilege.
    #3 Go away.

  7. She is on a huge block-a-thon on Twitter.

Talk about falling on her fainting couch.

  8. You should follow up on her race-baiting. The police released video of the stop, which exposed her lies.

  9. It always bugs me when people completely disregard their own irresponsible actions, and blame everyone but themselves when they screw up. She was speeding. She broke the law, and was dealt with accordingly. Going 20+ over the limit will get you pulled over 100 out of 100 times, regardless of skin color or your education.
