“They have less feel for the electorate than the man in the moon”

Pat Caddell is the political strategist who became the go-to guy on Fox News when they want someone to diss Democratic Party strategy.

But his diss at Breitbart on Republican presidential consultants made me take notice.

“Mike Murphy has spent millions taking Jeb Bush from 17 percent to 4 percent,” Caddell said.

We will in the future call that Jebbing.

“The election is not about ideology, not about issues, it’s about insurgency,” he said.

And the political consultants missed it.

“They have less feel for the electorate than the man in the moon,” he said.

But those consultants talk to the pundits in Washington, which is why so many of them -- Krauthammer, Willet cetera -- blew this election. Just freaking missed the boat. I laugh at them. I may write a book someday about  how incompetent these jackasses are.

In the meantime, Caddell said, only two Republican have not hired political consultants: Trump and Cruz.

Polls show them No. 1 and No. 2.

The full story is here.

  1. I'll be looking for haggard-looking men standing on corners with signs that say, "Ex-political consultant - will work for polls." Then I'll spit at them. - Elric

  2. Only one of the two is a conservative, Don. I was astounded at how many smart people were mesmerized and taken in by Obama in 2008. The same is true today when it comes to The Donald.

Big gubmint fan? Check. For loose immigration enforcement before he was against it? Check. Crony capitalist? Check, and proclaims he is proud of it! Same sex marriage? Check. Tax the rich? Check. Likes entitlements? Check.

What the heck? Doesn't sound remotely conservative to me.

  3. Is that hair (in the pic, not on The Donald) real?

Let's face it, folks, the Beltway "Biggies" know squat about everyone outside the Bos-Wash corridor, because they don't WANT or care to know about us.

  7. And, the next batch of republican candidates will hire the same consultants with the same results.

    Sad.

    1. What makes you think there will be another batch? Going down to the wire, we could be looking at a radical transformation of party politics in 2016. Depending on the outcome of the Congressional races, the Elephant could become as extinct as the Mammoth. Does Donald have coattails? Does anyone in Congress who's up for election want to ride on Donald's coattails? Has the Dem electorate finally gone full Monty Socialist as we always knew they would some day? Stay tuned. You will get the authoritative answers here first at Don's Place.

    2. What makes you think the elephant will be extinct instead of the ass? Everybody focuses on the election of the next Pharaoh (living god on Earth). But the elephants have been trampling the state houses while the Democrats have been reduced to the regional party of bankrupt cities. That's why they've been reduced to running socialist totalitarians.

  8. ...But his diss at Breitbart on Republican presidential consultants made me take notice makes it sound like Caddell dissed Brietbart.
