We Need a Little Christmas

I was bored and watching Get TV when the Mitzi Gaynor Christmas Special, circa 1967, came on. She opened with this song, "We Need a Little Christmas," which is from Jerry Herman's Broadway musical, "Mame." The song refers to the week before Thanksgiving in 1929 when the title character has just learned she lost everything in the stock market crash.
Haul out the holly
Put up the tree before my spirit falls again
Fill up the stocking
I may be rushing things but deck the halls again now.
For we need a little Christmas right this very minute
Candles in the window, carols at the spinet...
I would say this is a good week for that song.
