Someone set a mosque in Houston on fire on Christmas Day. About 80 firemen and women fought fire, which destroyed almost everything but the Korans.
From NBC News in Houston that day:
"Because of the recent spike in hate incidents targeting mosques nationwide, we urge law enforcement authorities to investigate a possible bias motive for this fire," said CAIR-Houston Executive Director Mustafaa Carroll.
Today police arrested Gary Nathaniel Moore, 37, of Houston, saying he started the fire. He is a Muslim who attended the church five times a day to pray, seven days a week for five years, the Houston Chronicle reported.A recent study found that hate crimes targeting Muslims, their mosques and businesses have tripled this year with most of the incidents occurring in recent weeks. Vandalized mosques have been reported in California, Arizona and Georgia.
Expecting an apology from CAIR? We shall see.
This is another reason to wait for facts before commenting on a crime.
