Liberals attack prayer in wake of shooting

As expected, President Obama and his handmaiden, Hillary Clinton, called for more gun control laws as police risked their lives to hunt down the suspects in the San Bernardino shooting on Wednesday afternoon. Never mind that we did not know what weapons the suspects had or how they acquired them. Never mind that we have had federal gun control since 1968. They want gun control!

Got it.

By the way, Democrats passed that law after the assassinations by snipers of JFK and Martin Luther King. The law regulates handguns. And of course, this incident shows gun control laws are not enough -- you have to do more.

But gun control is passe, or at least at an impasse. Young liberals -- meaning those who were not born a half-century ago -- used the occasion to mock prayer. Oliver Willis informed us that God does not want us to pray.

Apparently the Lord's Prayer was a prank call by Jesus, eh? But what do you expect from the Atheist Party?

Pulitzer Prize winning humorist Gene Weingarten tweeted against prayer.

This is from the same group that demanded Republicans respond to the Planned Parenthood shooting.
The Los Angeles Times posted a story online that detailed the difference between Democrats and Republicans to the initial shooting reports. Democrats demanded gun control -- which we have had for 47 years -- while Republicans called for prayers.

The left's Godless attacks on prayer ruled the Twitter feeds on Wednesday night, prompting this reaction (the tilde means "says"; I got confused too).

And this

  1. At least prayer shows concern for the victims. The godless left cares only for how much political hay they can make from a tragedy.

I see one Twitter birdbrain said God doesn't want prayers but wants action. OK, how about we declare all out war on terrorism and it's sponsors and make a real effort to wipe radical Islam from the face of the earth?

  3. Islam? Wasn't this just another instance of "workplace violence" like the Fort Hood shooting? It couldn't have anything to do with Islam. After all, Islam is "a religion of peace". Ignore the fact that this dude just got back from Saudi Arabia where he married his wife who also participated in the "workpace violence". They just happened to have pipe bombs lying around to take with them.

  4. "Christianity, as a late writer has pointed out in words well chosen,* is the only system of socialism which commends it self as having a rational basis, and its founder the most practical teacher of it that the world has ever seen. " The aim of all socialism is the securing of equality in the social condition of mankind, and if equality is to be secured at all it will be secured only by changing the hearts of men, and never by setting to work, in the first instance, upon the conditions." But the present impulse of socialism is not Christian, but rather one willing to put an end to Christianity. And it is a system of machinery, like the kingdom of a tyrant, not of souls, like that of Christ. Now the Christian system did not rest on force at all. It was communistic, but not socialistic, as the word is properly used; for its very essence was the freedom of the individual will."
