Prost, Joan Jett

Email from the USO, signed by Joan Jett: "Over the course of 20 years and 62 trips overseas, I’ve heard our heroes chant, 'I love rock ’n’ roll!' on bases in Afghanistan, Bosnia, Iraq, Pakistan and Uzbekistan. And each time, no matter how far from home, I knew I was connecting them back to something they love."

The spirit of Bob Hope lives.

  1. I always liked Joan Jett for her music and her attitude. She is one of the few that puts politics aside and remembers the troops. As an aside, whenever we were painting topside, we would have a boombox and would crank out "Bad Reputation". The Chief would yell at us and tell us to "Turn that *&@ off!"

  2. I did not know that. Good on her!

  3. Joan likes to play for the troops. I love her for that.

  4. Good for her. She still hates that Limbaugh uses her music for his intro, though.

  5. @locomotivebreath: The Rush Limbaugh theme is "My City Was Gone" by the Pretenders, written by Chrissie Hynde. Joan Jett doesn't have anything to do with it.
