Politically correct toadies defeated on 9/11 Victory Mosque

They called us Islamophobic, racist, and uninformed. But in the summer of 2010, the forces of the right squared off against the media, the left, and Islamic terrorists -- and won. Breitbart reported today that the project is officially dead.

Muslim millionaires wanted to build a Victory Mosque near Ground Zero in New York City. Mayor Michael Bloomberg immediately signed on board.. Objectors were called names and informed. At one point, Bloomberg said, “If we don’t build it, the terrorists will win!”

And you wonder why the imams in Iran keep trying.

Millionaire Sharif El-Gamal bought the property at Park 51 in 2009 and told the New York Times he was building a community center called Cordoba House, after a town in Spain that the Muslims overran in 711. The Muslims took over a cathedrals and burned churches and temples. The New York Times called this the model of Muslim peaceful co-existence with Jews and Christians.

Pamela Geller and Robert Spencer, founders of the group Stop Islamization of America, called him out on it, and the battle was on over the Ground Zero Mosque was on.

Because the proposed building had gyms and other facilities, El-Gamal, Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf, and their liberal handmaidens in politics and the press insisted it was not a mosque -- even though it would hold services for 2,000 people each week. I guess Mountaineer Stadium makes WVU a community center, not a school.

Liberals called Rauf a moderate Muslim. He told "60 Minutes" shortly after 9/11: "I wouldn't say that the United States deserved what happened, but the United States' policies were an accessory to the crime that happened.”

The problem in America is that is a Muslim moderate thinking. Hell, our own president believes that as do many, many other liberals. Obama heard Jerry Wright's "chickens coming home to roost" speech in church on 9/16/2001 and later went to write a book in Wright's honor, heralding him as a mentor.

Stopping the Ground Zero Mosque under those circumstances is a miracle.

We will need many more. Please pray.

The story is here.

  1. I certainly do not wonder.
"The New York Times called this the model of Muslim peaceful co-existence with Jews and Christians." This would become the "peace of the grave".

  2. A few more of their victory temples need to be cast down. Principal among them is the dome on the Rock which infests the most holy site for Jews.

  3. Exactly how many churches and synagogues are in Saudi Arabia? Islam does not believe in coexistence.

A radical Mooslime wants to kill us. A moderate Mooslime wants the radical Mooslime to kill us.

  4. Since this was my longtime neighborhood, I was following the story for at least 6 months before it hit the national news. The whole "community center" shtick was quickly patched together when the story became national. I remember when it was initially going to be a multilevel mosque, because the one this group had a little north was supposedly too small for their burgeoning followers. They tried to claim there was this sudden surge in Muslim population in lower Manhattan, when it was really just the increase in taxi drivers using the nearby depot/garage.

  5. Greg Gutfeld (the wiseacre on Fox) started a move to open a gay bar (in particular, a moslem gay bar) next door. I've enjoyed many of his commentaries since.
