2016 is a national security election
Scott Walker, John Kasich and Marco Rubio have a nice playbook on domestic issues. They do not agree with one another on each issue but they are all within my margin of error when it comes to these issues. Donald Trump on the other hand is frequently outside that range.
None of that matters.
The issue this year is national security. Mexican drug lords and Islamic State soldiers are invading our borders.
So far, Trump is the only one willing to take them on (and reluctantly in the case of the "Syrian refugees").
Which is why he is leading in the polls. Of all Barack Obama's many, many, many, many, many, many failures, the most dangerous one is his refusal to defend our borders. In fact, at every turn, President Obama has undermined American security. No one is more personally responsible for the crack up in the Middle East. Ousting Gadhafi and Hosni Mubarak fed the rise of the Muslim Brotherhood, which led to the Islamist State. Abandoning Iraq led to Iran's takeover. Obama either by plan or design is paving the way for a Sharia World.
Americans do not feel secure. The liberal embrace of illegal immigration is the Washington power elite -- which includes almost every Republican in Congress -- turning its back on the nation.
Speaking English is now considered racist. Patriotism is now considered racist. Going to church is now considered racist. Owning a gun is now considered racist. Heck, the Constitution itself is now considered racist.
That is what Trump speaks to. Make America Great Again is the Hope and Change of this election. We want to be great again. Trump gets it. When will the rest of the pack figure it out?
