You go first, Bill Nye, millionaire guy

Television science celebrity Bill Nye told students at the University of Albany that we need to soak the rich in the name of global warming.

"We need, dare I say it, a tax, or should I say a fee. It’s not just to be mean, it’s to redistribute wealth,” Nye said on Wednesday.

It was not real clear as to what he plans to do with the loot. But one thing is clear, the multi-millionaire didn't volunteer to redistribute any of his wealth.

From Campus Reform:
Nye went on to claim that instituting such a tax would drive innovation in more environmentally friendly ways.
"It will stimulate people investing in more energy efficient means. If you gotta pay a fee every time you make carbon monoxide and someone comes up with a more efficient car, you'll use that car. Somebody comes up with a more efficient blender, you'll use that blender. I mean, that's just how it's going to go."
Various sources put hiss net worth at $6.5 million.

Politicizing science pays well.

  1. Let's be fair; he must be a genius. How else could he cash in on $6,5 M from an engineering degree. Somehow that degree makes him an expert on climatology.

BTW, Don, I see you've been selected Blog of the Day at Legal Insurrection. Congrats

  2. Another Weasel Watcher post, IMO.

  3. If he ever accepts questions from the congregation, oops I mean the audience, maybe someone can ask something like: "I make 52,000 a year -- what's my fair share of taxes to pay?" and follow it up with "how much do YOU pay in taxes?"
