Hillary's brother got the gold mine, Haiti got the shaft

With Bill and Hillary there is always an angle. America's Biggest Grifters raised a few eyebrows when their foundation actual gave some money away -- $36 million -- to Haitian relief after an earthquake on the island of Hispaniola killed 100,000 Haitians. Sure, it was other people's money, but it was out of character for Mister and Missus Mooch.

Now it turns out that the move was far from altruistic. A company fronted by one of Hillary's worthless brothers -- Tony Rodham -- just received the first gold-mining permit issued by Haiti in 50 years. And that Clintonian money more likely went to line political pockets than to actually aid the people.

From Mining.com:
In a story that suggests cronyism, questionable ethics and a blurring of the lines between charity and profiteering, The Daily Mail reported on Sunday that Clinton's brother, Tony Rodham, sat on the board of VCS Mining when the unlisted, Delaware-based junior was granted a permit to mine gold in Haiti following a massive earthquake on the impoverished island nation in 2010. The permit was the first to be granted in over 50 years, VCS Mining wrote in the press release announcing the awarding of the 5-year exploitation permit.
While Rodham's involvement in the gold project, called Morne Bossa, would normally be of little cause for concern, what has raised eyebrows is the timing of the permit, granted two years after the earthquake that killed over 100,000 people, and the fact that Rodham "was a board member of a North Carolina mining company that enjoyed prime access to Haitian gold deposits in the wake of post-earthquake relief work organized in part by former president Bill Clinton through the Clinton Foundation," according to the Daily Mail. Another VCS board member was Jean-Max Bellerive, noted the Mail, who co-chaired the charitable Interim Haiti Recovery Commission with former US president Bill Clinton.
However the company vigorously defends against the allegation, saying in a press release that Rodham and Bellerive did not become become members of the board of directors until Oct. 27, 2013, almost a year after the final development permit for Morne Bossa was issued.
"We never expected or asked Mr. Rodham for any special treatment and did not receive any. There was no quid pro quo concerning the Clinton Foundation suggested or offered and VCS has not received any financial assistance from any Clinton entity nor has the Company solicited any Clinton entity," the company states.
Just a coincidence.

Except noting is coincidental with the grifters.

But of course the money raised by the Clintons helped Haitians, right?

From Judicial Watch:
Roughly half of the $1.14 billion that the U.S. government allocated to help Haiti recover from the 2010 earthquake has gone to wasteful projects with the single largest chunk — $170.3 million — going to a failed port and power plant adventure heavily promoted by Bill Clinton and the State Department under the leadership if his beloved wife.
[SNIP] According to a federal audit of the $1.14 billion that Congress approved to help Haiti recover from the powerful earthquake that killed more than 200,000 and left over 1 million homeless. The probe was requested by a Florida congresswoman who chairs the House Middle East and North Africa Subcommittee because hundreds of millions have been spent in Haiti with virtually no accountability.
The investigation focused on $651 million that American taxpayers have given Haiti via the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) since 2010. The probe “reveals a troubling lack of progress and accountability,” according to the lawmaker who ordered it, Ileana Ros-Lehtinen. “More than three years after the devastating earthquake of January 12, 2010, we find that much of the assistance that the U.S. has provided Haiti for reconstruction efforts has suffered from ineffective stewardship on the part of USAID,” the veteran congresswoman says in a statement posted on her website.
Every person who voted for Ross Perot in 1992 and/or 1996 is an accomplice before the fact in enabling the Clintonian corruption.

  1. Haiti seems to be a cesspool of dictators, cronies, grifters, and others of low repute.
How different it is from the Dominican Republic, on the same island.

  2. Bush 41 shares the blame by betraying Reagan's legacy and blowing the sky high approval rating he received after GW I, and losing to a failed governor of a small Southern state. And then, the Stupid Party couldn't do any better than Bob Dole in 1996. That was almost as dumb as McRINO in 2008 and the only Republican who couldn't run against Obummercare in 2012 since it was based on Mittenscare.
