Environmentalists win. Aboriginal Australians hardest hit

Australia's environmentalists, led by advertising millionaire Geoffrey Cousins, succeeded in stopping construction of a $40 billion liquefied natural gas project in Kimberley, Western Australia, in 2013. The project had the blessing of Aboriginal Australian leader Wayne Bergmann, former head of the Kimberley Land Council.

On Wednesday, Wayne Bergmann told an oil and gas conference in Perth that “extreme nutter” environmentalists cost Aboriginal Australians $1.5 billion to be paid out over the next 30 years.

“They’re all gone but the region is still in devastation. We’ve still got the highest suicide rates, the lowest employment (rates). Geoffrey Cousins is still living in his house in Sydney — he hasn’t left anything back in our region,” Wayne Bergmann said.

Once again, a rich white man keeps indigenous people poor.

  1. Billions of people would be so much better off if only Leftists would stop "helping".

  2. The Alaskan Indians are all for drilling in ANWR, which is essentially an Arctic desert but envirotards are all against it. Most of them have never even seen pictures of ANWR. If it's for progress, the progressives are against it. The same people who opposed the pipeline because of what it would do to the caribou (the caribou love the pipeline and are thriving) are against ANWR. Between ANWR and fracking we would be energy independent now.
