Will Connecticut boycott Connecticut?

Democratic Governor Dannel Malloy of Connecticut arbitrarily banned all state-funded travel to Indiana because the state recently adopted a Religious Freedom Act -- similar to one Connecticut already has had on the books for years.

This is another false narrative like "Hands Up" and "I Can't Breathe." (If you cannot breathe, you cannot speak.) But false narratives work. The media sells it, and you live the role, as Ozzy Osbourne once put it.

52% of Americans see Obama as a threat to the United States

Reuters is pooh-poohing the findings of its poll as Republicans-hate Obama.

But the results show half of all Americans -- black and white -- male and female -- gay and straight -- see President Barack Obama as a threat to the United States of America.

Only 35% say he poses no threat.

Wow. Finally something we agree on.

Imagine there's a heaven; it's easy if you try

Arizona state Senator Sylvia Allen, a Republican from Snowflake, made a keen observation during a debate on carrying concealed weapons into government-owned buildings. She said the real reason people no longer feel safe is the country has divorced itself from God:
“Probably we should be debating a bill requiring every American to attend a church of their choice on Sunday to see if we can get back to having a moral rebirth [but] that would never be allowed.”
Well, why not? If you can force people to buy health care insurance regardless if they want to, you can force them to attend church. Prayer after all helps heal, which would reduce health expenses, right?

Will Supremes defend wearing the flag?

You can burn the flag. The United States Supreme Court of Appeals said so in 1989. Dissent was patriotic because we had a Republican president.

But can a white student wear a flag on Cinco de Mayo under a Democratic president?

Black churches divorce Presbyterians over gay marriage

The National Black Church Initiative is a political umbrella for 34,000 African-American and Latino churches in 15 denominations representing 15.7 million Christians. Its policies are progressive. What they are not saying about Angie's List boycotting Indiana

The Left is all excited because Angie's List is "boycotting" Indiana over the state's new Religious Freedom law.

What they are not telling you is its stock price is down, it has posted losses for at least three years, and its plan to build a $40 million operation in Indianapolis required $18.5 million in tax incentives, which it lobbied for heavily this year. The boycott may be a cover story for a project that pancaked.

Television science celebrity Bill Nye told students at the University of Albany that we need to soak the rich in the name of global warming.

"We need, dare I say it, a tax, or should I say a fee. It’s not just to be mean, it’s to redistribute wealth,” Nye said on Wednesday.

It was not real clear as to what he plans to do with the loot. But one thing is clear, the multi-millionaire didn't volunteer to redistribute any of his wealth.

Most campus rapes are in dorms, not fraternities

Susan Svrluga would make a better mortician than a journalist. She buried her lead on a story about sexual discrimination against fraternities at Wesleyan in Connecticut in Paragraph 16 of her story:
The argument for coeducation of all-male fraternities is one with many faces. At first, it was suggested that fraternities promote sexual assault. Yet the university’s own safety report states that 13 out of 15 forced sexual assaults in 2013 occurred in the university’s own co-ed dorms.

The post Brian Beutler wants you to forget

Brian Beutler of New Republic likely does not want you to remember his June 3, 2014, post: "Conservative Critics of the Bergdahl-Taliban Swap Have Some Explaining to Do," which attacked veterans and others who said the Army should investigate the sergeant for desertion.

Nine months later, the Army has done that and has charged Bowe Bergdahl with desertion. But he has the presumption of innocence.

Liberals go Truther on Bergdahl

Bowe Bergdahl poses a great problem for liberals. Conservatives were skeptical of the sergeant's "abduction" by the Taliban in Afghanistan. Conservatives believed the tales of his fellow soldiers who said he deserted his post in Afghanistan. Liberals believed President Obama.

Now that the Army has defied White House pressure and charged Sergeant Bergdahl with misbehavior before the enemy and desertion, liberals have gone Truther with a conspiracy theory.

From the Atlantic: "The military had to choose between granting the former Taliban prisoner an honorable discharge, back pay, and benefits — or initiating court-martial proceedings."

NYT thinks you get an honorable discharge for desertion

L.A.'s fast food ban fails. Liberals make excuses

The other day, I wrote, "People gained weight after L.A.'s ban on fast food." This was based on a Los Angeles Times story that reported the area where building new fast-food franchises was prohibited in 2007 is where obesity is rising fastest in the City of Angels.

The Atlantic, which championed this ignorance before it became law, is now making excuses for a ban that not only failed to reduce obesity but actually accelerated its growth. The Atlantic now contends that fast-food franchises are not the problem. The new line is that the reason 75% of the people in in parts of South Central Los Angeles are now obese or overweight is because there are no supermarkets in the area. Liberals are great at making excuses, lousy at making policy.

Replace public pensions with 403b (401k)

West Virginia state government offers employees a wonderful pension -- a multiplier of 2% for every year worked. Thus an employee who works 30 years gets 60% of the average of their best years in pay.

That is unless the state defaults on its pension plans. It could. For every $3 it has promised state employees, it has socked away only $1.78. And they do not have Social Security to cover their state years because they did not pay Social Security.

The state has a $5 billion deficit! Its defined benefit plan is only 64% funded.

Journalism is anti-white, anti-male

They were the stories of the year. A white police officer shot and killed an unarmed black teenager who had his hands up. A fraternity at the University of Virginia gang-raped an innocent college freshman.

"Just as poll taxes and literacy tests prevented an entire class of citizens, namely African Americans, from integrating into society after centuries of slavery, ex-offender disenfranchisement laws prevent people from reintegrating into society after they have paid their debt by serving time in prison," Conyers said in a statement.

The reality as reported by the Tampa Times: "Researchers counted a record number of manatees in Florida’s warm inland waters this winter, with the robust population numbers serving as ammunition in the simmering war over whether to restrict human interaction with the sea cows. The Feb. 20 tally, conducted by a team of 20 observers from 11 organizations, counted 6,063 manatees in Florida: 3,333 along the east coast and 2,730 on the west coast. Journalistic liars cost 8,000 households $250 million in Ferguson

I am sure Jonathan Capehart of the Washington Post felt warm and fuzzy when he posted, " ‘Hands up, don’t shoot’ was built on a lie."

Admitting his mistake is a start.

When will he pony up some money to help the 8,192 households in Ferguson, Missouri, recover the approximately $250 million in lost property values caused by his sloppy journalism and to be blunt, racism?

Jonathan Capehart is not alone in repeating this outrageous lie, of course, but before he pats himself on the back for finally admitting the truth, four months after the truth came out, how about some cash. This is a tort. Jonathan Capehart, Comcast (through MSNBC) and dozens of other news organizations made stacks of money by repeating a lie for months.

Environmentalists win. Aboriginal Australians hardest hit

Australia's environmentalists, led by advertising millionaire Geoffrey Cousins, succeeded in stopping construction of a $40 billion liquefied natural gas project in Kimberley, Western Australia, in 2013. Did "60 Minutes" get it wrong?

Lumber Liquidators sells flooring from China in California, Virginia, Florida, Texas, and Illinois. On March 1, 2015, "60 Minutes" charged that LL's laminated flooring causes cancer because its Chinese vendor uses too much formaldehyde in making the floors.

Two days later, the law firms Weil, Quaranta, P.A. of Miami and Los Angeles, and Babbitt & Johnson, P.A. of West Palm Beach, filed a federal class action suit against Lumber Liquidators alleging the company did just that.

However, the story may backfire because the story has holes in it. This morning, Lumber Liquidators offered free safety tests to customers.

But more importantly, the story raises questions about the ethics of "60 Minutes."

Mission accomplished, Eric Holder

On August 9, 2014, a 300-pound black thief named Michael Brown attacked a police officer and tried to get his gun. Instead, he got bullets. His accomplice in the crime claimed that Michael Brown had his hands up when he was shot and killed.

Other witnesses said the accomplice was lying.

The NAACP, Comcast (through its employee Al Sharpton), and Eric Holder, the Obama administration point man in this, ignored the truth, used the incident for political purposes, and watched as rioters tore up the town of Ferguson, Missouri.

Black lives matter -- even if the NAACP does not care

Last summer, the NAACP made a hero out of a thug named Michael Brown, who was shot and killed after he attacked an officer, and threatened to harm civilians in Ferguson, Missouri. False claims by NAACP leaders led to three days of riots, arson and looting. Ferguson is now a disaster area that will soon become a mini-St. Louis.

So far the NAACP has said nothing about the actual murder of an innocent black man, Josie Wells, 27, outside a motel near Baton Rouge, Louisiana, in a black neighborhood one resident described as "a rat hole."

Perhaps that is because Black Lives Matter only if the black life in question is a young hoodlum.

You see, the murder victim is Josie Wells, who was a deputy U.S. Marshall.

Discussions of race relations in this country are dominated by the race hustlers. They usually restrict the discussion to black and white relations, with white people always being wrong. Occasionally, Hispanics and white relations are discussed, with white people being wrong again. Once in a while, Indian and white relations are discussed, with white people of course being wrong. Asian and white relations are never discussed because the race hustlers consider Asian people to be white -- except Bobby Jindal, who is just passing.

But black-Hispanic relations and black-Asian relations do exist and do need some discussion because they are strained. Radio's Laura Ingraham touched on this with an interview with Bob Ross, president of the NAACP's chapter in Prince George’s County, Maryland.

Hillary's brother got the gold mine, Haiti got the shaft

With Bill and Hillary there is always an angle. America's Biggest Grifters raised a few eyebrows when their foundation actual gave some money away -- $36 million -- to Haitian relief after an earthquake on the island of Hispaniola killed 100,000 Haitians. Sure, it was other people's money, but it was out of character for Mister and Missus Mooch.

Now it turns out that the move was far from altruistic. A company fronted by one of Hillary's worthless brothers -- Tony Rodham -- just received the first gold-mining permit issued by Haiti in 50 years. And that Clintonian money more likely went to line political pockets than to actually aid the people.

Which may explain why sales are down. Who wants watered down beer?

Prime Minister: "Australians are sick of being lectured to by the United Nations"

Tony Abbott is my favorite prime minister (sorry Stephen Harper, but you are now No. 2). It is not because his daughters are gorgeous (as is Rachel Harper), but because Tony Abbott stands up for Australia.

Carbon tax? Gone.

Immigration laws? Enforced.

United Nations? Challenged.

Even Bill will not defend her

President Clinton declined to defend Hillary's skirting of the law by conducting her work as Secretary of State on her private e-mail account in hopes that no one could touch it.

Bill slickly declined to defend her saying he has an opinion and he is biased.

Scoreboard 3-8-2015

1. Protests begin on police shooting unarmed black teenager in Madison, Wisconsin. This looks like a legitimate complaint. We shall see. Too bad the NAACP cried wolf in Ferguson.

UPDATE: Turns out to be another Michael Brown. It is as if African-American leaders want the right to be a criminal. I am surprised I fell for a false narrative like that. EVIL.

Science is just a 7-letter word

Science is just another word to liberals. Consider Kiera Butler of Mother Jones, who wrote: "Why You Should Stop Eating Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner. Dogmatic adherence to mealtimes is anti-science, racist, and might actually be making you sick."

The idea that eating meals at a regular time being racist is weird enough, but "anti-science"? Does the woman even know what the word science means? Good gravy. She's not sure if it makes you sick, but implies that science says it is bad for you.

In fact, she gets the science backward.

Headline of the day

This is the actual headline in the Los Angeles Times:
Oregon abolishes its hopelessly bungled health insurance exchange
Bu-bu-but I thought only those mean, racist, Koch Brothers-owned, Republican governors were against President Obama's health insurance exchanges.

Selma 2015, by the numbers

On Saturday, the president led a re-enactment of the march o Selma for the Voting Rights Act of 1965, which create the Congressional Black Caucus -- and also enabled Republicans to control the House of Representatives by concentrating white voters in black districts.

So what is Selma like today? It is home to 20,000 people, 80% of whom are black, according to the Census Bureau.

Sperling's Best Places reports Selma's unemployment rate is 12% (twice the national average). the median family income is 42% of the national average ($22,076 vs. $53,046) and 60% of the people live in a family with an annual income of less than $30,000.

But it made a nice photo op for the Obamas and the Bushes.

EVIL.

He knew it was fake but he failed to report it

The AFL-CIO bused in protesters from Boston, Ohio and other out-of state to the Capitol in Charleston today to make it appear as if 7,000 West Virginians were up in arms over the Republican Legislature's attempt to straighten out 80-plus years of union bosses running the Legislature.

Dave Gutman of the Charleston Gazette knew that this was an Astro-Turf rally. He tweeted it.

Gutman failed to report this in the Gazette's online story on the rally. They did quote Rich Trumka -- who never lived in West Virginia -- decrying "out of state corporations."

This is hilarious. Never thought I would live to see the day when the AFL-CIO couldn't get enough West Virginians to protest in Charleston.

Because something is happening
But you don't know what it is
Do you, Mister Gazette?

EVIL.

LBJ destroyed your state's budget

As state legislatures throughout America struggle with requirements to balance their state budgets, let us pause to remember that one-quarter of the budget is dictated by Lyndon Baines Johnson, whose damage to state budgets lives on 42 years after his death.

As president, LBJ pushed for Medicaid -- free health insurance for poor people. This was a boon to the medical industry, particularly hospitals, doctors, sellers of wheelchairs, and nursing homes.

But Medicaid comes at the expense of schools, highways, prisons and others state services because it requires states to pony up some of the money in this federally mandated program.

Medicaid now takes $1 of every $4 states spend. And under Obamacare, those costs are rising as previously qualified people who did not sign up must now sign up -- and they are now using their free coverage.

McCain man convinced me: Walker in 2016

I know it is too early. I know he can crash and burn. I know I should hear from everyone before I decide.

But Mark Salter has convinced me that Scott Walker is America's best bet as our 45th president by calling Scott Walker a dumbass.

After 6 years of President Einstein, I want a dumbass president. I want someone who left college a few weeks early. I want a mouth-breather.

And it is not just because Mark Salter was a loser staffer for that loser John McCain's losing presidential campaign in 2008.

The lesson of West Virginia's fetal pain law

Last year, in a desperate attempt to hang on to the West Virginia Legislature, the Democratic state Senate president and the Democratic Speaker of the House finally allowed a vote limiting abortion to the first 20 weeks -- knowing full well Democratic Governor Earl Ray Tomblin would veto it. The Democrats refused to consider an override.

Republicans took over the Legislature anyway, for the first time in 84 years.

On Friday, they overrode the governor's veto. Elections have consequences -- so do economics.

1. Federal prosecutors leak to CNN that they will indict Democratic Senator Bob Menendez for not backing President Obama on Cuba and Iran, er, corruption. Ever get the feeling there is a lot of blackmail in government? EVIL.

ATF to become convenience store?

Conservatives love the T-shirt "Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms should be a convenience store, not a government agency."

The bureaucracy's attempt to ban ammunition may pave the way for doing just that.

In the wake of that unconstitutional action by agency employees, Republican Congressman Jim Sensenbrenner of Wisconsin re-introduced legislation to eliminate the agency.

The reminder that she is The Congenital Liar

Hillary should go away. Just leave.

There are myriad reasons why we know Hillary would be a disastrous. But the best summation was William Safire's epithet "congenital liar."

After reading Ron Fournier's essay on her latest scandal -- dodging the law on emails as secretary of State -- I am reminded of William Safire's essay of January 8, 1996, "Blizzard of Lies." He nailed her and not in a sexual manner.

Liberals surrender their Hands Up lie

Conservatives never bought the lie that Ferguson, Missouri, Police Officer shot and killed Michael Brown after surrendered.

Now, months after the false claim rationalized rioting, looting and arson, the New York Times finally admitted Hands Up was a big, fat, sinking lie.

1. Syracuse University will honor modern journalism by not allowing anyone attending its journalism awards dinner to ask any questions of its big draw: Hillary Clinton. Pravda had higher standards than these Clintonians. EVIL.

Free health care is killing the states

Republican Charlie Baker of Massachusetts is only the latest governor to discover that Medicaid is eating his state's budget. Roughly one in three dollars Massachusetts state government spends goes to Medicaid. He has proposed trimming about 6% from the $13.3 billion the state will spend on Medicaid in the budget.

Medicaid spending has relentlessly risen 57% in the last dozen years in Massachusetts, causing the state to cut spending on prisons, roads and other services. That is the pattern throughout the United States, as state governments are intimidated into spending all they can on Medicaid in order to knock down federal subsidies. In West Virginia, medical lobbyists harp for every $1 the state spends it gets $3 -- while our roads go to pothole hell.

How to teach women not to rape

Since September 29, 2014, Glenn Reynolds at Instapundit has linked stories about women accused or convicted of molesting minors or raping men under the heading TEACH WOMEN NOT TO RAPE! (CONT’D).

The entries only seem like a running gag. But no matter how hot the teacher -- or friend's mother -- may be, sexualizing an 11-year-old boy or a 12-year-old girl is wrong. It is illegal. It is rape-rape because it does lifelong damage. And yes, men can be raped. And yes, lesbians molest girls.

We know how to teach women not to rape: Imprison female rapists.

But in America, women criminals serve only 224 days in jail for every year a man does for the same crime. That includes rape.

Great Lakes ice cover highest in 35 years. Global warmers hardest hit

From the National Wildlife Foundation's climate scientist Amanda Staudt on March 13, 2012: "After the fourth warmest winter on record, the extent of ice covering the Great Lakes is at a near record low. The extremely low levels are consistent with a study showing significant declines in ice levels from 1973-2010. This trend is yet another indicator of global warming causing odd-ball winter weather in our backyards."

From Mother Nature three years later: 88.8% of the Great Lakes are covered with ice -- the largest cover since 1979, which was 35 years ago.

Saudi: "Obama is the godfather of the prefabricated revolutions in the Arab world"

I dislike the House of Saud, which despite great wealth and education is an 11th century caliphate practicing sharia law. But Ahmad Al-Faraj, a columnist with the Saudi daily Al-Jazirah, ripped Barack Obama over the Benjamin Netanyahu speech, an indication that even the Saudi Arabians get what the stakes are in Iran.

And I agree with Ahmad Al-Faraj's assessment of President Obama as "the godfather of the prefabricated revolutions in the Arab world."

Obama's Cairo speech inspired the Islamic State and others to light up Northern Africa and the Middle East.

Anti-cop narrative fails in LA

Over the years, I have learned two things: Cops cover for one another, cop critics lie. So when an event happens, such as the recent shooting death of a homeless man in Los Angeles, I bide my time.

It turns out the innocent homeless man was a violent French bank robber.

Facts not mentioned about guns

Which state has the lowest gun murder rate in America?

Vermont.

Which state has never required a permit to carry a concealed weapon?

Vermont.

In writing in the Washington Post about states trying to emulate Vermont by allowing concealed weapons without permits, Jeff Guo of Storyline did not mention the lowest-in-the-nation gun murder rate of Vermont.

1. From Instapundit: "TWO THINGS PEOPLE ARE MISSING ABOUT NETANYAHU’S SPEECH: (1) He didn’t just make a case for why the U.S. should be harder on Iran. He made the case for unilateral Israeli military intervention too, sub silentio. (2) The most damaging thing to Obama here isn’t even the substance, but the contrast in style. Netanyahu, as someone said on Twitter, was better in his second language than Obama is in his first. And he presented himself as a leader who cares about his country, rather than one, like Obama, who makes excuses for its enemies."

So succinct it should be called sinct. GOOD.

2. Boehner refuses to uphold the Constitution. Illegal aliens will soon have more rights than citizens do. We need a second party in this country. EVIL.

Netanyahu 1, Obama 0

The confrontation between nations turned out to be Benjamin Netanyahu praising Barack Obama -- and the president looking like the trifling fool he is.

Netanyahu -- who was left sitting and waiting for hours at the White House shortly after The Won as in the childish "I won, I will trump you on that" became president -- let bygones be bygones and praised the president.

You left out the Voting Rights Act of 1965

As governor of Massachusetts, Elbridge Gerry almost vetoed the redistricting plan for congressional districts in 1812. Instead, he let the partisan divide of districts go into law, attaching his name forever to Gerrymandering.

This is what happens when you don't listen to your conscience, kids.

Christopher Ingraham of the Washington Post wrote, "This is the best explanation of gerrymandering you will ever see. How to steal an election: a visual guide." He failed to include the effects of the Voting Rights Act of 1965, which is the main driver of gerrymandering tehse days.

This is what happens when you don't do your homework, kids.

NYT inoculates Hillary

The New York Times rolled out another Clinton scandal today: "Hillary Clinton Used Personal Email Account at State Dept., Possibly Breaking Rules."

Smelling blood in the water, the guppies circle.

Don't set your self up for the inevitable disappointment when it comes to that criminal enterprise known as The Clintons. This scandal will die rapidly. The New York Times chose today to roll the story out for a reason: Netanyahu's showdown with Obama is bigger news that will drown this story out -- and breaking the story now starts the clock on the scandal. By the time the 2016 general election is here, this story will be 1 1/2 years old.

Scott Walker now opposes amnesty

Actually he was for it before he was against it. Republican Governor Scott Walker of Wisconsin now opposes granting amnesty to illegal aliens.

I am puzzled by the pro-amnesty stance to begin with. I know it is born of ignorance and the stereotype of the hungry Mexican peasant who is just picking peppers to feed his family.

But why after 9/11 would anyone trust an illegal alien, especially when 19 of them hijacked four planes and turned them into missiles.

Netanyahu more popular than Obama in the USA, according to Gallup

45% of Americans approve of Benjamin Netanyahu -- only 44% approve of Barack Obama, Gallup polls found.

The difference is within the margin of error, but so what?

Only 24% disapprove of the Israeli prime minister -- a majority of 51% disapprove of the president of the United States.

Obamacare damage assessment

Republican Senators Lamar Alexander of Tennessee, John Barrasso of Wyoming, and Orrin Hatch of Utah rolled out in the Washington Post their plan for salvaging Obamacare.

Their assessment of the situation was damning:

Why the NYT got Scott Walker wrong in 2011

Four years later, the headline is a laugh riot: "In Wisconsin Battle on Unions, State Democrats See a Gift."

So why did the New York Times get the narrative on Republican Governor Scott Walker so wrong?

Jeremiah Wright's America

President Obama is an anti-Semite who is going out of his way to show his bigotry and hatred toward Jews in not only snubbing but openly opposing the appearance of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu before Congress this coming week.

The president's anti-Semitism represents the majority of the Democratic Party -- including Jewish Democrats.

From his mansion in a gated, nearly all-white retirement community, Jeremiah Wright beams. He taught Obama well at Trinity United Church of Christ. Frankly, the president's foreign policy reflects Jeremiah Wright's post-9/11 sermon, in which he condemned the United States.

Fiorina looking veepish

The big winner at CPAC may not have been Scott Walker -- who is blowing the competition out of the water as a revolutionary governor from a big blue state -- but rather Carly Fiorina. She has no political success and she bombed as CEO of Hewlett-Packard.

But she also is making sense and is showing a fearlessness. She had an I-beat-cancer attitude toward the Islamic State -- and calling out Hillary Clinton was brilliant.

NYT: Fracking will turn the Sahara into a desert

The New York Times story on hydraulic fracturing in the Sahara is so one-sided that it amounts to an editorial. Carlotta Gall just assumes fracking harms the environment, and thus she did not bother to contact anyone in the industry to defend the practice.

The result is laughable -- but also revealing, for she does quote socialists. Lots of them. And in so doing, she shows just what the anti-fracking movement is all about.

Socialism.
